The PVC 2021 conference is the world’s leading forum on polyvinyl chloride, which took place from the 10th May to the 12th May. Due to the persistent global Covid-19 pandemic, the event was held completely online. As a global forum (over 500 experts from more than 40 countries have attended in 2017), the PVC 2021 conference offered a comprehensive and varied program of international speakers, high-quality papers and exceptional networking opportunities for all its participants. Among the many participants there were also some experts from project partners of our Circular Flooring project who presented new insights into various topics, such as Strategy, Direction & Global Markets, the Circular Economy, Sustainability, Recovery & Recycling as well as Plastisols & Flexible PVC and Lean Manufacturing, Machinery & Processing Technology.
Specifically, Jane Gardner from ERFMI spoke about Designing a Circular Economy within the Resilient Flooring Sector, while Astrid Eichholzer from our project partner Akdeniz Chemson covered Solid CaZn and CaOrg Stabilizers in Flooring and the Circular Economy with our project Circular Flooring as a practise example. In addition to the main topics presented by our partners, this year’s PVC 2021 was particularly impressive due to the range of topics selected, which can be accommodated by the high number of experts from industry and research. Finally, a big thank you goes to all the speakers of our project as well as to all the organizers and people involved in creating such an amazing conference in these exhausting times!
