The Plastics Circularity Multiplier Initiative (PCMI), of which Circular Flooring is a member, hosted its first conference on October 14-16, 2020 in virtual format. This initiative unites 21 EU-funded research projects with more than 320 partners (i.e. Research institutes, industry, small- and medium-sized companies, public entities, non-profit organizations) and a total investment of 140 million Euro. Impressive numbers indeed.

So why not using such a large network to join forces and boost Europe’s steps towards a circular economy? Initiated by the DEMETO project, the PCMI and its members presented their work and results in this three-day event:

• October 14: R&D investments and chemical recycling (presentation of Circular Flooring, NONTOX, iCAREPLAST, polynSPIRE, DEMETO, ISOPREP, PUReSMART)
• October 15: Product design for recycling & Recycled plastic content in products (presentation of REACT, REMADYL, CIRC-PACK, DECOAT, TERMINUS, RePair3D, SmartFAN)
• October 16: Collection and sorting of plastic waste & Monitoring of recycled plastics (presentation of MultiCycle, PolyCE, Life-Repolyuse, CREAToR, PlastiCircle)
